Holiday Fun in Phoenix

At Phelps LaClair, we believe that rest is important for our lives to be in balance. The author of the Bourne Trilogy series said, “Rest is a weapon.” As the year is winding down and we are heading into the busy holiday season, remember to have fun and play! There are many great holiday activities in Phoenix that can bring joy to the whole family. Here are just a few things to do this holiday season:

1. Ice skate

NYC has Rockefeller Center, but Westlake ice skating rink in Phoenix is the place to enjoy a holiday on real ice. And you don’t have to be a pro to enjoy a fun skate! Go fast or go slow—it’s all up to you. There are also free horse-drawn carriage rides, and Santa Claus is ready to hear the kids give him their wish list. It even snows twice a night!

If you are in downtown Phoenix, you can go to CitySkate Holiday Ice Rink on Central Avenue. Real ice, real fun! Mesa also has outdoor skating, lots of shopping and an assortment of food truck festivities.

To experience an enchanting winter wonderland, head over to the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess hotel. Here you will find one of the “Top Ten Holiday Ice Skating Rinks in the World”, according to the Vancouver Sun. Kids of all ages will enjoy the Build-a-Bear workshop, Santa’s secret headquarters, and a ride on the Princess Express Train.

2. Holiday lights

Who doesn’t enjoy the magic of Christmas lights? You can get fully immersed in a fantastic light show at the World of Illumination in Tempe and Glendale. This is a 25 minute, one mile drive-through experience synchronized to your favorite Christmas music. Don’t forget your camera!

ZooLights at the Phoenix Zoo is another magical display of holiday lights. The zoo is transformed into a wonderland of millions of lights, hundreds of displays, and performances throughout the zoo. Come before dark to enjoy the animals; stay for the stars and the festive evening activities.

Lights of the World Lantern Festival is where Chinese tradition meets cutting-edge technology. It is a unique look into different customs and cultures around the world.

A true Southwestern holiday display can be found at the Desert Botanical Garden. Here is Las Noches de Las Luminarias, a path among desert flora illuminated by 8,000 luminaries. The cacti and succulents are stunning, and there are live performances throughout the garden.

Whether you want exciting activity or quiet enjoyment, there are plenty of holiday activities in Phoenix to enjoy this year. Push aside the work, lay down the schedule and plan some time for relaxation. Remember, rest is a weapon! With rest, you can win the battles you are called to fight. As an estate planning firm, at Phelps LaClair, we fight for you to protect your estate and plan for the future. This holiday, be at rest knowing that we have designed the best estate plan for you. If you don’t have an estate plan yet, give us a call. Your first consultation is free.
