Most of us would agree that springtime in Tempe is an absolute delight! Spring brings the perfect blend of mild temperatures, clear skies, and vibrant outdoor events. We always enjoy the outdoors scene at Tempe Town Lake, taking scenic walks along the Salt River, and immersing ourselves in the beauty nature offers. And every spring, the city comes alive with street fairs, art, music, and celebrations of all kinds. Here are three spring festivals in Tempe we’re looking forward to!
1: Super Spring Festival
Saturday, March 22 from 10am to 2pm at Arizona Boardwalk Courtyard
Celebrate the start of spring with the whole family! Grab the kids and head on over to this free event to meet some superheroes, watch live performances, and take part in all kinds of activities. There will be face painting, a zipline to ride, a bounce house, obstacle courses, and a variety of vendors. To be entered into the giveaway drawing, sign up for a free ticket—you could win a four-pack of tickets to the Aquarium, among other prizes.
2: Dragon Boat Festival
March 29 & 30 at Tempe Town North Shore
The 19th Annual Arizona Dragon Boat Festival is an event you won’t want to miss! Picture yourself seated on the lakeshore, surrounded by the excitement of colorful, ornately decorated dragon boats. Teams from all across the country cut through the sparkling waters to compete in thrilling races.
The event is free to watch! The races start at 8:00am on Saturday and continue throughout the day, carrying on into mid-afternoon on Sunday. In addition to watching the races, you can take in live performances, traditional music (details announced soon!), and delicious food from local vendors. It’s the perfect opportunity to immerse yourself in an unforgettable spectacle with your family while enjoying the fine spring weather.
3: Reggae Rise Up
Friday-Sunday, April 4-6 at Tempe Beach Park
Want to be on the cutting edge of Tempe excitement? Get ready for an unforgettable experience at the inaugural Reggae Rise Up festival! This three-day event features electrifying artists like Wiz Khalifa, Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley, Soja, Cypress Hill, Dirty Heads, and many more.
The grounds will feature art installations and there will be several food and drink vendors as well. Whether you’re a festival enthusiast or simply looking for a vibrant experience, anyone can soak up the heart and soul of reggae. Grab your tickets here and immerse yourself in a weekend filled with fantastic music, culture, and positive vibes.
