Shine Bright! 5 Fun and Festive Holiday Light Displays

For Phelps LaClair staff, nothing says “Happy Holidays” more than enjoying beautiful displays of festive lights. While we may not get a winter wonderland here in the Valley of the Sun, our chilly nights are perfect for walking or driving through beautiful Christmas lights in Phoenix, Scottsdale, and other nearby areas. Here’s a list of the holiday light displays we plan to check out with our families this year!

Zoolights at the Phoenix Zoo

Enjoy millions of twinkling lights at “Zoolights at the Phoenix Zoo”—a holiday tradition for 30 years. Running now through January 15th, the nighttime walk-thru display includes amazing animal sculptures, two Music-in-Motion light shows at the main lake, musical performances, and much more.

There’s also a nightly Holiday Safari Animal Presentation, a three-story Christmas tree, pictures with Santa, a traveling art exhibit, and much more! And on certain nights, the Phoenix Zoo opens the displays to cars to cruise through and enjoy Christmas lights in Phoenix.

Wow the whole family with a display featuring more than 400 candy-themed installations, with colorful lights synchronized to music. From sugar plum fairies to a gigantic gingerbread village, this sweets-inspired light display in Glendale is bound to amaze everyone in your family.

Christmas at The Princess

In Scottsdale, the “Christmas at The Princess” light show is running now through January 2nd. Every year, the entire resort gets transformed into a holiday wonderland with over six million twinkling holiday lights, festive decorations, and more!

Families can go ice skating and watch light shows in the Enchanted Plaza. There’s even a spot to get a quick snack by making your own s’mores. And don’t forget to have your picture taken with Santa and his band of holiday characters.

Lights at the Farm

One of the best spots to see a light display in Mesa is “Lights at the Farm” at Vertuccio Farms. This amazing walk-thru holiday display features more than two million LED lights that are completely synchronized to holiday songs. Make sure to bring your ice skates to take a spin on the farm’s 4,000 square-foot holiday skating rink, made from an “NHL grade” synthetic surface.

Christmas on Comstock

Did you know one of the best places for lights in Gilbert was once a winner of ABC’s The Great Christmas Light Fight? “Christmas on Comstock” is a Gilbert neighborhood display whose holiday lights display received national attention when they were featured on television back in 2015. This holiday light display features 13 houses along Comstock Street decked out with over 110,000 lights synchronized to holiday music.
