What to Do on New Year’s Eve 2022 in Arizona
1: Go to a Party
You don’t have to plan your own party to ring in the new year. There will be plenty of extravagant and exciting parties all across the Phoenix metropolitan area for adults aged 21 and over.
For example, the annual Gatsby’s House NYE party returns to Phoenix from 8:00 pm to 1:30 am at the Renaissance Phoenix Downtown Hotel. Enjoy prepaid drinks, festive party favors, and hand-passed appetizers while you dance the night away.
If you’re looking for the biggest celebration in Tempe, you’ll find it at NYElectric 2023 from 8:00 pm to 2:00 am. This party will be held at Westin Tempe, a new hotel that has gorgeous panoramic views of the city and the mountains. There will be two DJs, several areas to mingle, prepaid drinks, and fun party favors for all.
2: Enjoy a Bar Crawl
You can roam the town with your friends or even make some new ones by attending a local NYE bar crawl. For instance, participating bars in Scottsdale will offer welcome shots and exclusive drink specials for those with tickets. You can check in any time between 8:00 pm and 10:30 pm, and the event will run all night.
Or, you can get tickets to the bar crawl in Tempe, which features many participating bars, lounges, and nightclubs along Mill Ave. Check in between 8:00 pm and 10:30 pm—the event runs all night long.
3: Watch Fireworks
Start off 2023 with a bang by catching a fireworks show, which you can enjoy at the Great Pinecone Drop in Flagstaff. This event is a decades-old tradition, and how Flagstaff says farewell to the current year. Come gather at the Weatherford Hotel to count down to 2023 and watch the lowering of the pinecone, which will be followed by a fireworks display.
You can also get tickets to watch this special event from a hotel room or the Zane Grey Ballroom, Bar, and Balcony (21+ only). Or, make a reservation at the hotel’s restaurant (children are welcome). The pinecone will drop at noon, at 10:00 pm, and at midnight.
4: Attend a Concert
A concert is another great way to celebrate the start of 2023. If you love musicals, then you need to check out the New Year’s Eve Celebration! Broadway Classics concert at the Chandler Center for the Arts. This event features the greatest hits from Broadway classics like “Jersey Boys” and “Mamma Mia” performed by talented vocalists and a live orchestra.
There’s also the New Year’s Eve Concert with Megan Hilty at Symphony Hall in Phoenix. Megan Hilty is known for many roles, including Glinda in Wicked and Ivy Lynn in Smash. Her talented portrayal of Brooke Ashton in Noises Off has even earned her a Tony Award. Her New Year’s Eve performance will be a memorable event you won’t want to miss.
