27 Feb Four Year-Round Farmers Markets in Chandler
Craving something fresh? Spring isn’t here quite yet, but you can get fresh, local produce all year round at our Phoenix area farmers markets. Besides fruit and veggies you can also find eggs, meat, cheese, honey, artisanal bread, baked goods, sauces, and more! If you want to support our local farmers and makers, here are four markets to check out in Chandler.
Downtown Chandler Farmers Market
Dr. A.J. Chandler Park West
Open on Saturdays from 9 am – 1 pm
Everybody loves the Downtown Chandler market. It’s pet-friendly and features some of the best food trucks in town. Dozens of local farmers attend, along with gourmet food vendors, artists, and artisans.
This market is also known for its weekly events, like Stories in the Park. This children’s even happens at 9:30 a.m. in the courtyard next to Crust Simply Italian, and it’s sponsored by the Chandler Public Library. There’s also Yoga in the Park, a donation-based class open to all levels and ages, sponsored by Yoga’s Arc.
Gilbert Farmers Market
Gilbert Road and Pecos Road
Open on Saturdays from 8 am – noon
Known as the “foodie market,” the GFM features over 150 vendors year-round, with:
- Local, chemical-free, organic produce
- Farm-fresh eggs, meat, and cheese
- Bread, sweets, coffee, and tea
- Sauces, seasonings, and locally made artisan products
This market happens on the Chandler-Gilbert Community College campus, so sorry, no dogs allowed.
Greenhouse Gardens
13103 E. Chandler Heights Road
Open on Saturdays from 9 am – noon
You can find all sorts of seasonal vegetables, fruits, and herbs at the Greenhouse Gardens, and they are all grown without pesticides or chemicals. They also host fun fitness events, like POUND Unplugged, a 30-minute class that balances high-intensity exercises with restorative movements, rhythmic breathing, and meditation.
Ocotillo Farmers Market
2547 W Queen Creek Road (at the intersection of S Dobson Road)
Open on Sundays from 9 am – 1 pm
The Ocotillo market features over 40 vendors offering a wide variety of locally grown produce from nearby farms, as well as live music. If you live in Sun Lakes or Goodyear, you might want to check it out!
