About
James Phelps
James Phelps is the firm’s second-generation successor, continuing Stephen’s legacy, keeping the firm focused on family-centered estate planning and long-term client relationships. He developed a passion for the law at an early age working alongside his father for years before attending law school. Born and raised in Arizona, James has deep ties to the state where his family has lived for several generations.
Since 1999, James has devoted his practice exclusively to estate planning and trust administration. He enjoys helping clients achieve peace of mind by preventing “fires” rather than putting them out.
James has the unique experience of having handled hundreds of trusts and estates after people have passed away and knows what works and doesn’t when the time comes. James truly enjoys educating others on the importance of estate planning.
James and his wife, Jolene, have three very active children. He is passionate about living a healthy and balanced life, coaches and plays competitive tennis, volunteers as a youth coach, and on weekends enjoys backpacking, camping, paddle boarding, and other high adventure activities.
