Eva Ruiz

Eva is a legal assistant and receptionist at Phelps LaClair, where she welcomes clients, coordinates appointments, and supports the firm’s estate planning team. She enjoys being a helpful first point of contact and takes pride in making clients feel heard, supported, and at ease throughout the process.

Eva’s interest in law began on the front lines of public service. She worked as a 911 dispatcher and first responder for small-town police departments across four different agencies. That experience strengthened her ability to stay calm under pressure, communicate clearly, and help people during stressful and important moments. Eva thrives in roles where she can serve others, solve problems, and make difficult processes feel more manageable.

Eva is an Arizona native, born and raised in Phoenix. She lived in Camp Verde for six years before moving back to the Valley in 2023. She is continuing her education through Arizona State University, where she is pursuing studies in human rights and social justice.

Outside of work, Eva enjoys concerts, live music events, festivals, horror movies, true crime, spending time with family, going to the movies with her kids, and playing video games.
