About
Emily Burba
Emily is a paralegal at Phelps LaClair and has been a valued member of the firm’s team since 2019. Born and raised in Arizona, she brings a strong local connection and a client-focused approach to her work supporting the firm’s estate planning, probate, and trust administration matters.
Emily is the firm’s primary probate paralegal and guides clients through the details of the probate process in Arizona. She understands that not every family has an estate plan in place and that navigating probate after the loss of a loved one can feel overwhelming. Emily takes pride in helping make the process as smooth and organized as possible through careful communication and attention to detail.
In addition to her probate work, Emily plays an important role in supporting the firm’s estate planning operations. She maintains the firm’s work in progress, assists with deed preparation and deed research, obtains EINs for business entities and estates, and helps prepare LLC documents. As a nationally certified Paralegal and Notary for the State of Arizona, Emily is skilled at managing the details needed to help estate plans, probate matters, and business-related planning move forward efficiently.
Before joining Phelps LaClair, Emily worked for a disability law firm in Scottsdale, where she helped individuals apply for and receive disability benefits through their employer’s short-term and long-term disability policies. That experience strengthened her commitment to helping people through important and often stressful legal processes.
Outside of work, Emily enjoys spending time with her four children, her dogs Romeo, Juliet, and Gus, and her family and friends.
